As most of you are aware the EFNL, like most community football competitions, have cancelled season 2021. This includes the final series that we hoped may still have proceeded. Whilst this did not impact most of our teams, our under 19 white team finished 2nd and had a good shot at winning a flag. To Tim, Trimma and the boys, great effort and be proud of your season. The club in general should hold its head high as we more than held our own in our first year in the strong Eastern Football League. As a club we must build on what we achieved in 2021 and come out stronger in 2022. One of the most disappointing aspects of the season ending prematurely was the clubs inability to see off the retiring Madi Andrews with the fanfare a club legend deserves. Thanks Mads for your contribution over the journey.
On a brighter note things still go on. We have our major raffle still to draw so players please sell your tickets. For anyone wanting to buy one email firstname.lastname@example.org. Even though we only played 9 games we will be announcing Best and Fairest award winners and conducting a presentation night in some form or another. This is our act of defiance against COVID and our attempt to normalise the season as much as we can. We still hope to get the Sportsmans Day up in November and all being well a combined Family Day / Xmas Party / Major Raffle Draw in December. Fingers Crossed.
To all our supporters and sponsors thanks for the season, albeit shortened. Everyone take care and hopefully we can all get back up to the club sooner rather than later.
